Following after Daddy in bathroom time

Brayden disappeared the other day and when Dave went looking for him this is what he found. He got the toilet paper away from Brayden before he destroyed it but didnt take the playboy away until after he had checked it out. It was a proud moment every father has to have I guess

Bad hair day I had to share

Finally some time

Hey everyone! I feel like its been a while since I updated. Seems like every moment I had lately I was trying to work on work stuff. I am really trying to get my year started off right. So I have been creating all kinds of things for it, coming up with fresh ideas, and redoing my entire presentation. Its been fun to do it all because it makes it feel brand new to me and gets me excited about it again.

The kids and Dave are doing great. Nothing major to report. We have turned into pretty boring people lately. Mychael is counting the days til summer vacation already I think. He is so bored with school. He gets to go to the symphony though for his class trip in Feb and he is really excited about that. Brayden is getting around better and better so it is getting harder and harder to keep up with him. I have been leaving the gate open so he feels he has a little more freedom to roam around and his favorite thing to do is go in his bedroom and pull every sock out one by one and put it on the floor. I let him have this once it makes him so happy. So about 20 times a day I'm in the floor picking up socks. So cute though.

Next weekend my mom and dad are keeping Brayden all weekend and Mychael will be gone so we actually have the whole weekend to ourselves. I am so excited! We haven't had a whole night to ourselves since October when we went to New Orleans. No plans as of right now but hopefully we will get to plan something fun. As much as it would be nice to just sleep the entire weekend it would also be nice to spend some quality time together.

Well it is bedtime for Brayden. I will try to write more soon

See ya,
Christy

Bathtime!! So cute I had to post

We were going to give Brayden a quick bath the other night so we just threw him in the sink. This is the first time we ever did that and of course he turned into a ham the minute the camera came on so I figured I would share. I dont have a lot to talk about because Ive been sick all week and have barely gotten off the couch. Doubt anyone wants to hear about it :)

See ya!

Some of our ornament collection

I know I have mentioned to some of you before about our Christmas tradition of getting a new ornament every year. We get a family ornament and we usually get an ornament to represent anything great that happened throughout the year. It has been so fun for us to do this and then every year as we unwrap them we look through all of them. It definitely makes me smile and as we pull each one out we get to remember the good memories. So this year as I took the tree down I decided to take some pictures of some of my favorites and share them with you. Under each picture I have explained the ornaments in the picture.

These three are from 2007 while I was pregnant with Brayden. We were supposed to come up with names to put on the book on the one to the far left but the only name we ever came up with is Brayden. We never really debated. Then we had the family pregnancy one, and then we found a kid with a firefighter helmet on and on his shirt it says "big brother" so Mychael got his own to represent his soon to be role.

These four are the family ones throughout the years. Each one has our names and the year on it.

These are all ornaments that Mychael has made us in school starting in Kindergarten

The top one is Braydens 1st year ornament. The stocking and tree are ornaments that were made for the kids this year by Grandma Marlene and the two socks in the middle are each of the kids first sock that they wore. Braydens on the left and Mychaels on the right.

and these are ornaments from different occasions through the years. The first one is a dog holding a key that says "new home". We got that the year we moved into this house. The 2nd is a Cardinals Baseball ornament with Oct 27 written on the side. This is because we were married Oct 27 which was also the day the Cardinals (our favorite team) won the World Series. The third is a married couple obviously for the year we got married. The fourth is a Saints symbol with 2008 on it. We got that while we were in New Orleans when we went to see out first Saints (our other favorite team) game. The fifth is a football ornament with Mychaels name, year, team, and 1st place on it for when his football team won the championship. The last says "our first Christmas" on it from when we got together.

So that's all of them. Just thought Id share with you all. Now I am going to go put Brayden to sleep because my sanity is telling me he needs a nap :)

See ya,
Christy

That annoying family member...you know who you are! :)

Do any of you have a relative that you "tolerate"? The one that comes to all the family functions and tells all kinds of made up stories that you sit there and listen to knowing that all that is coming out of their mouth is bullshit? The relative with the sarcastic mouth and lies? In my family we have this person who comes to family functions and talks allllll about how she knows all these people like shes with the "in" crowd. She talks about how she knows people that know Dave and shes talked to him a lot but yet when the big question comes...."whats his name?" She suddenly forgets! How annoying is that?!?! So then you decide to give her the benefit of the doubt when she PROMISES she will have the information at the next family gathering. Guess what?? yeah she lied again! She didn't know the name.

Message to this family member....its okay if you don't know people. I will still think you are cool. Just quit making stuff up. Geez

Another message.... I love you and I hope you enjoyed this! :)

PS - To everyone who might think this is serious it is NOT! I am just giving crap to a person who knows Im giving her crap

Happy New Year!!

Hey everyone! I hope everyone had a great and safe New Years Eve. We didn't do a whole lot. We had Brayden and so we just stayed at home. We drank some wine, watched tv, and played Rummy-O :) Brayden actually made it until the new year! He celebrated with us as the countdown was going on. Then we called Mychael (who had also stayed awake until the new year) and talked to him. It was a relaxing night.

Christmas was also a good time. We had so many celebrations to go to this year and we aren't even done! Mychael was in Oklahoma this year so that put a damper on things. Dave had to work Christmas Eve so Brayden and I headed down to Chester to celebrate with my moms side of the family. Then when they leave we do just our Christmas (my family). Once Brayden slept all the way home he was up until 2am. It was a tiring night. Christmas Day we got up and did our Christmas with Brayden, then we head over to Tanjas to do Christmas with Daves family. After that we headed to Troy to have Christmas with Daves dads side of the family. After that it was home to another LONG night with Brayden. I think all of the activity was throwing him off. The Saturday after Christmas Brayden and I headed back down to Chester (Mychael was still in OK and Dave worked again) so we could have Christmas with my dads side of the family. It was all tiring but it was a really great Christmas with the exception of Mychael being gone. That always makes it feel weird. I think all of us had a great few days.

Mychael came back Sunday and so Sunday night we had our Christmas together (Dave, me, Mychael, and Brayden) and opened presents. After that we stayed up really late playing games. I finally got smart and started buying him games that I really like so now I'm the one begging to play (which is why Dave was playing rummy-o at 1am last night). We got Mychael a Wii Fit for Christmas. It has so many fun games on it! We are really enjoying that right now. I'm sore as all hell but its too much fun to stop. I'm trying to remember what all Mychael got for Christmas but I am blank. Every year I say I'm going to reduce the amount of stuff we give him and every year it just seems to pile up. This year though he is interested in everything he got so I think it will actually be used. Last year he got so much that we still have it (in packages) in his room and in the garage. Those will be going to Salvation Army soon.

Brayden also had a great 1st Christmas and really got a LOT of stuff for it. I had to clear all of his old toys out of the living room just so I could put the new toys in here to play with. He also got a lot of really cute clothes for winter. That is what he really needed! He is getting so big so quick that we didn't have many clothes for winter for him to wear. Problem solved in that area!

I know I haven't wrote as much lately and I am going to try to fix that now. There just wasn't that much going on around here to write about. From now on I will become more interesting.

See ya,
Christy
