So I have got nothing done today that I wanted to get done. I am counting down the minutes until our trip and there was a lot I wanted to get done before then. Hopefully I'm a little more motivated tomorrow. It just seems like I have been going non stop lately and today while Mychael was in school I just stopped altogether. I did a few things this morning and then had no motivation to continue.
Tonight Mychael had football practice. This is the first practice where someone (Dave, Mychaels dad or his girlfriend) have not been there with me. I'm used to having a little help with Brayden and all the stuff that comes with us and boy did I get my workout being on my own. First of all they decided not to do it in the normal place because a cross country meet was going on so we walked for what felt like a mile (it always seems longer while carrying a child, diaper bag, chair, purse, etc). We finally get out there and its drizzling (there goes my hair for open house at the school!) but its not too bad. As we are sitting there Brayden wanted to do nothing but bounce. For any of you that have had the pleasure of doing this particular exercise with him you know its tiring on the arms! Then it starts raining harder so I decided to trek back to the car and feed Brayden out of the rain. So we finally get back to the car and guess what?!? yes of course it stopped raining! So I go back out to the field and a really nice guy sitting down from me brings me his umbrella and tells me to keep it in case it starts again. I was thanking God for him 5 minutes later as I sat huddled under it during a downpour. The coach kept glancing at all us parents and I returned his glance with a glare that I was hoping he could understand what I thought he could do with this practice in the rain and it involved shoving it somewhere. He didn't stop the practice though so I guess the message wasn't going through.
So after practice we had open house at Mychaels school. The practice had been behind the school so I just switched shirts and shoes and thought Id be good to go. Until I caught a glance in the window on the way in the door. Air drying my hair is not my look! I don't know what the teacher might have thought but hopefully she understood that the mean bully coach made us sit in the rain :). Mychaels dad (Tommy) and his girlfriend (Tracey) went with me. Dave had to work so he couldn't make it. I think the teachers are always surprised when we walk in as a group. They always make comments about how many of us there are. They also always say its good we all come. I think its great that we all love Mychael so much that we always take that extra step to show him we are a group. Like all of us will go out to eat together, or go to school functions together. I think that matters to Mychael so I'm glad we are all friends. So we go in and meet his teacher and she has a scavenger hunt for us to do. It mostly consisted of going place to place to see his work and meet different staff like the principle and nurse. When we were getting ready to leave I asked her how he was doing and she said that he was doing great. She said he always has great manners. Later we heard this from different people as we went around meeting them. Each one made a comment on how sweet he is and how great his manners are. I am just so proud! I know a lot of 8 year old boys that don't know what manners are and can be holy terrors but he has always been so polite to people. What a great kid I have!
Well I am about to try to go to sleep. I really feel like I need to catch up. I'm just drained lately and I definitely want to be ready to go this weekend in New Orleans!
See ya!
